In the new premises of Medip d.o.o. , we hosted the second Educational Workshop: Handling Endoscopic Equipment, organised by the Slovenian Section of Nurses and Health Technicians in Endoscopy and Gastroenterology.
Reprocessing of flexible endoscopes was presented in detail by Marija Petrinec Primožič, dipl. m. s., the participants were introduced to ESGENA (https://esgena.org/publications/esge-esgena-guidelines-and-position-statements/) and Slovenian protocols ( https://arhiv.zbornica-zveza.si/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/UCE-NP-20.03-Mehanicno-ciscenje-upogljivih-endoskopov-ver.2.pdf ) and renewed the basic procedures for the safe reuse of endoscopes.
Increasingly demanding sedation and Monitoring during endoscopic procedures was presented by Saša Puconja, dipl. m. s..
At the workshop Endoscopes and endoscopic equipment, Mitja Šeškar, Service Manager, MEDIP d. o. o., and his colleagues showed in detail the composition of the endoscope, the most common injuries and how to prevent them. Usually, this workshop always runs out of time due to the many questions from the participants.
The workshop Electrocoagulation also passed too quickly, as the participants wanted to practically experience and test the characteristics and different settings for monopolar, bipolar and argon plasma coagulation.
