From September 19 to 21, 2023, Medip supported the Ljubljana School of Gynecological Endoscopy with sponsorship funds: Basic course of gynecological endoscopic surgery, organized by the Department of Reproduction, Gynecology Clinic, UKC Ljubljana, Department of Gynecology, Gynecology Clinic UKC Ljubljana and Slovenian Association for Reproductive Medicine, SZD. In addition, in cooperation with the KO for Abdominal Surgery UKC Ljubljana, on September 22, 2023, a one-day symposium “Intestinal Endometriosis” was held in memory of Asst. M.Sc. Robert Juvan . The course and symposium took place at the Gynecology Clinic, Šlajmerjeva ulica 3, 1000 Ljubljana.
Since the course was aimed at specialists, junior specialists and anyone who would like to renew and deepen their knowledge on laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery according to ESGE and GELSEA guidelines, we at Medip decided to support the course with a workshop of safe laparoscopic morcellation with MORSAFE technology (Morsafe Morcellation Bag , Laparoscopic Myomectomy – Veol Medical Technologies (https://veolmedtech.com/) . In addition to complete video endoscopy equipment, a morcellator and a morcellation bag, Medip has also produced a trainer for this type of procedure for this purpose. The trainees were able to test each step of morcellation in a bag in a safe environment , which sometimes presents an additional challenge even to experienced surgeons.
We also supported the course by demonstrating out-patient hysteroscopic removal of pathology from the uterus with the TRUCLEAR system – for this purpose, we supported the live broadcast of the hysteroscopy procedure from the hysteroscopic outpatient clinic to the lecture hall, thereby enabling the trainees to gain an active insight into everyday work (more about the product: https:/ /www.medtronic.com/covidien/en-us/clinical-solutions/gynecologic-health/products.html.
